Wal-Mart Paid $9 Million For Shoes.com

Walmart acquired Shoes.com for $9 million, according to documents posted on the web site of Alvarez & Marsal Canada. The purchase price included domain name and intellectual priority.

As reported when the deal was announced on April 3,  Merchandise wasn’t included.

As reported, Shoes.com will be merged into ShoeBuy, which was acquired by Wal-Mart on January 5. ShoeBuy is part Wal-Mart’s Jet.com business.

In late January, Shoes.com, a Canadian-based firm that also owned OnlineShoes.com, and SHOEme.ca, announced that it will be shutting down operations. The company indicated it was working with its secured lenders to determine the process to liquidate assets.

Reports have also indicated that DSW acquired another of the Shoes.com domain names, ShoeMe.ca, for an undisclosed price.
