Athletic or non-athletic?! The answer means a huge difference in duty rate!

Footwear Tariff & Customs Digital Conference
Thursday, November 13, 2025  |  1:00 – 4:00 pm ET

Live digital sample review with a National Import Specialist, THE footwear classification decision maker at U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP). Be sure to join us live – we do not record the sample review, and you will have the opportunity to ask classification questions in an off-the-record setting. We will show pictures of your samples to CBP, John Pellegrini (FDRA), and team on-screen and get their views on how the footwear would be classified.

Why it matters: There are more than 400 ways to classify a shoe, and small changes mean a huge difference in tariff rates — and costs for companies!

One more thing: The event will also feature an update from U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) on recent footwear enforcement trends. We will be joined by the CBP Apparel, Footwear, and Textiles Center. Important topics for discussion include footwear tariffs, intellectual property protection, and the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).
