A milestone for the company, the expansion was critical to meet the evolving increase of consumer-demand for quality comfort footwear while accommodating rapid sales growth in the international market, as well as through wholesale, e-commerce, and over 180 The Walking Company retail stores nationwide.

“We are excited to complete the expansion of our distribution center for improved efficiency throughout our infrastructure,” began Mike Grenley, chief operating officer at The Walking Company. “Remaining in the Lincolnton area allows us to support the local economy while staying close-by port to effectively serve our customers and stores around the country.”

The new distribution center will be fully functional by mid-October. Construction was handled by commercial contractor Choate Construction with conveyor systems installed and supplied by Piedmont Material Handling.
