23 Jan Wolverine Brand Appoints VP of Product Management
Wolverine has appointed Rick Appelsies as vice president of product management for Wolverine footwear and apparel.
“We are pleased to have Rick join our team,” said Todd Yates, president, Wolverine. “Rick’s diverse leadership experience in the work and outdoor industries in both footwear and apparel make him an excellent fit to lead our product team. His deep knowledge of these categories will help us drive strategic and consumer-led design innovations and position the brand for continued growth in the future.”
As vice president of product management, Appelsies will lead strategic product line management, as well as design and development for the Wolverine footwear and apparel lines. He has more than 20 years of experience leading product and sourcing teams for consumer brands, including leadership positions with Red Wing, Gander Mountain and most recently, Rocky Brands.
“I am excited to join the Wolverine team,” said Appelsies. “This is a company I have used as a benchmark throughout my career. Wolverine’s robust infrastructure and brand strength are valuable assets for the product team. While I am psyched about the organizational capabilities and the brand strength, I am most energized by the people and culture. We have a dedicated team of talented people that I am eager to work with and move us into the future.”
Appelsies holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University School of Business and Executive Leadership Training from University of Minnesota.
