Tax Reform Statement

(Washington, D.C.) Matt Priest, President and CEO of the footwear industry’s trade association, the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA), issued the following statement after the White House and Congress released details for a unified tax reform plan:

We welcome the introduction of a framework to reform our nation’s Tax Code by Congress and the Administration. Reducing burdens on the individuals and families who buy shoes, and making our Tax Code more competitive for U.S. businesses, will help drive greater investment, innovation, and job creation throughout our industry. Now that the framework has been released, we stand ready to work with the Administration and Congress to advance much-needed tax reform that will help grow our economy and create new footwear jobs across our supply chains.
