08 Apr Micro-Pak Ltd. Registers its Products Pursuant to U.S Environmental Protection Agency Anti-Microbial Laws
APRIL 8, 2013 – Micro-Pak Ltd. received confirmation that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“U.S. EPA”) has issued registrations for both Micro-Pak Enhanced Packaging Stickers and Micro-Pak PE Sheets.
The U.S. EPA regulates anti-microbial products under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (“FIFRA”). Micro-Pak products have been registered as anti-microbials pursuant to FIFRA as is required for all anti-mold products including but not limited to stickers or other materials distributed either directly or as part of packaged products i.e. footwear, garments and similar items. Failure to register anti-mold products with the US EPA pursuant to FIFRA is a violation of US law and may result in fines and other penalties.
The U.S. EPA antimicrobial registration process includes certain chemistry data requirements, as well as efficacy and performance data requirements. Micro-Pak Ltd. undertook the rigorous testing and scientific analysis required as part of the U.S. EPA antimicrobial registration procedure.
