27 Mar ASICS Rolls Out New Tech for Fall 2014
Drawing on years as an industry leader in performance running, ASICS America unveils its Fall 2014 collection featuring new products in training and running, as well as updates to favorite shoes and apparel items with advanced ASICS technologies. The fall season is also one of ASICS’ most celebratory, including the famed New York City Marathon custom performance running footwear as well as expansions to the highly popular ASICS Accelerate Hope collection. ASICS fans, professional athletes and fitness novices alike will find the new fall collection to be a breath of fresh air.
“A Sound Mind in a Sound Body”
“Since the brand’s launch in 1977, ASICS has pushed the boundaries of product innovation within the running category. Our continued success and rich legacy in the running space is supplemented by incredible growth across a number of fitness categories, broadening our range of products that reach core runners as well as athletes from all sports,” said Shannon Scott, Director of Marketing, ASICS America. “While creating the 2014 fall collection, we drew inspiration from our unrivaled heritage and added innovations and technologies to enhance our athletes in running and training.”
Highlights from the Fall 2014 collection include:
Mix Up Your Run
In late 2013, ASICS introduced “Mix Up Your Run,” an initiative to help runners find the best combination of footwear for their training schedule. Mix Up Your Run encourages multiple shoes in a runner’s repertoire, depending on the distance and speed for each training session or event. For longer, more strenuous runs, ASICS recommends a legendary distance shoe such as the GEL-Kayano 21, which features a significant amount of cushioning and structural support. This shoe will also be released in the limited-edition New York City Marathon design in late fall to show support for marathoners everywhere. In addition to the structured cushioning shoes, ASICS offers a variety of running shoes that are ideal for running on different terrains, paces and distances.
For example, the GEL-FujiTrabuco 3 Neutral allows runners to get off the road and onto the trail providing the opportunity to mix up the running experience. Additionally, ASICS Natural 33 collection combines light-weight cushioning with the flexibility that runners crave during those varied runs used to “mix it up.”
Fitness First with ASICS Training
The training category has remained a strong focus for ASICS, which is reflected in the new product additions within the fall 2014 collection. This season, ASICS introduces the new Fit-Sana training shoe, a woven training sneaker with a GEL midsole, flexible enough for any training class like barre or Zumba but with support for high intensity workouts. The Fit-Sana features a woven upper and mono-tongue that provides a smooth, sock-like fit for natural movement without compromising cushioning or support. The updated footwear collection also boasts the Fit-Nova, a shoe just for women, in lightweight mono mesh that is meant to be worn barefoot to class. The training apparel collection also features fashion and warm layering updates for fall, including the Abby Pocket Bra with stash pockets and the Fit-Sana jacket with peek-a-boo back and bold colors. The collection even includes stylish, complementing accessories like the seamless, colorful Illusion Headband with stay-put silicone and the versatile, fit everything Fit-Sana bags.
Run From the Cold
ASICS worked with the most dedicated athletes in the coldest temperatures and harshest winds to create the new Run from the Cold collection, which features the latest technologies in warmth and protection. Featuring light-weight cold-weather solutions, hero products in this collection includes two new 10k/10k Shelter Jackets, which provides unmatched wind and water protection, ventilation and reflectivity for outdoor races and runs, and the Thermopolis® Wind Blocker, a winter jacket with ASICS Thermopolis interior, 60g of insulated fill for cold wind defense and a sonic weld quilt for visual flair. Accessories in this line also provide incomparable warmth and protection, including the new Thermopolis 2-N-1 headwear and Strom Shelter Cap. Through the Run From the Cold collection, ASICS showcases once again that it will only provide the best in apparel and accessories for the most devoted athletes.
Bring Performance to Lite
First launched in 2012, the Lite-Show collection will get an upgrade in fall 2014 thanks to continued research and testing over the past year. Featured in stealthy styling our advanced retro-reflective technology that shines bright when hit by lights, the fall 2014 Lite-Show products include a new “sequin print” reflection in apparel and the new Lite-Show Cap, weather resistant soft shells and thermal pieces, the updated GEL-Cumulus 16 Lite-Show running shoe, the new GEL-Exalt 2 Lite-Show, and the new glow-in-the-dark GEL- Nimbus 16 running shoe.
ASICS from Head to Toe
The fall 2014 line of ASICS accessories closes the loop with a complete look for any occasion. Starting from the head down, the new Felicity Beanie will keep you warm as the temperatures drop. The women’s specific cozy-fit beanie provides the warmth of ASICS’ exclusive Thermopolis LT fabric and the convenience of a ponytail opening. The new PR Shelter Mitt will be a runner’s best friend providing extra warmth and a water protective mitt cover that can easily fold away to reveal the touch screen-friendly inner thermal glove. Athletes can carry their gear in style this fall with the new Fit Sana Tote and Fit Sana Bag which hold essentials while combining style and functionality. To complete the head to toe look, ASICS’ favorite Quick Lyte Single Tab socks are now available with lightweight cushioning for buttery soft padding in high impact areas.
Accelerate Hope 2014
After years of success, ASICS is looking forward to an even bigger celebration and awareness initiative with the newest Accelerate Hope collection. This fall, ASICS is proud to announce larger donation percentages to the selected charities, while expanding product offerings within footwear, apparel and accessories. New products within the collection include Paint My Heart™ Tech Tee, Floating Ribbons™ Tee, the Quick Lyte Cushion Single Tab sock and the popular PR™ Runbrief in a ribbon camo print. Accelerate Hope 2014 will include collections for Cookies for Kids Cancer in September, Right Action for Women in October, and Prostate Cancer Foundation in November.
