01 Apr Native Footwear Adds to Production Team
Following a successful selling season, Native Shoes announced several additions to its global product team. Effective immediately Silvana Rivadeneira joined the global Native team as product line manager and Kevin Reid as footwear designer and developer.
Additionally, longtime Native Shoes Marketing Director, Shawna Olsten has been promoted to the position of vice president of global brand.
Rivadeneira brings more than 14 years of experience in the footwear industry to Native, most recently with John Fluevog. In her new role, she will oversee Native’s production, development and design teams. With her extensive background working with suppliers from around the globe, Rivadeneira will focus on long-term product goals for Native Shoes’. Her most recent position was as Director of Product Design and Development at John Fluevog where she played a similar role. She will report to VP of Global Brand, Shawna Olsten.
Kevin Reid will be responsible for executing the design and development of footwear across all categories. Reid comes from Norse Projects in Denmark where he managed footwear and accessories for the company. Reid will report directly to Rivadeneira.
As Native Shoes’ CEO, Scott Hawthorn explains, “Native is in expansion mode. Silvana and Kevin are very exciting additions as we work to create future classics in footwear. Both bring a high aesthetic vision in footwear that are very complimentary to Native.”
Longtime Marketing Director, Shawna Olsten steps into her new role as vice president, global brand where she will continue to oversee marketing and product initiatives as well as take on new responsibilities overseeing long-term brand strategy for Native Shoes. Since joining the company in 2010, Olsten has played an integral role in the development of the company’s branded content, including Nativision, as well as all marketing imagery and public relations.
“Shawna has been an instrumental member of our senior management team since the founding of Native”, according to Hawthorn, “now as VP of Global Brand she will continue to lead the Creative visioning at Native into the future as we continue to tell the Native story and spread fun to all humans everywhere.”
These latest appointments come after several company announcements including the 2013 new executive leadership and US sales agency partnership.
Established in Vancouver, Canada in 2009, Native Shoes are made from foam-injection molded-EVA, a lightweight, durable and comfortable material.
