23 May Pony Signs Licensing Deal with AL&SA
AL&SA (Anthony L&S Athletics) in partnership with Samsung North America announced the signing of a new agreement with Symphony Holdings that grants AL&SA an exclusive perpetual license for Pony North America.
The deal brings together one of the most established heritage footwear brands Pony, with renowned global businesses Samsung, Symphony Holdings – who acquired controlling interest and majority share of Pony International LKLC in 2006 – and Anthony L&S Athletics.
This on-going agreement replaces a 2027 licensing agreement for Pony USA. The new deal will enable AL&SA to develop a comprehensive, long-range strategy for Pony North America. Areas of immediate US focus include: strategic apparel & accessories partnerships, distribution, product design & development, sales, marketing & e-commerce.
“This licensing agreement provides Pony USA with a solid foundation to expand on its product & retail offerings, marketing strategies and e-commerce,” stated Santino LoConte, Principal of AL&SA – Pony North America. “It will also serve to accelerate the renewed focus on our brand architecture – concentrating on the Product of New York messaging”
Pony plans to open its first retail concept in New York City by Fall 2015.
Born in Manhattan back in 1972, Pony was re-established in 2013.
