30 Jul Kids Foot Locker Partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of America
The Kids Foot Locker Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) announced a national partnership encouraging kids to engage in an active lifestyle.
Kids Foot Locker Foundation and BGCA will challenge kids with a variety of physical fitness activities within select markets this year, urging them to get more active on a daily basis. Promoting a healthy lifestyle that kids can carry into adulthood is a key focus for BGCA, with this program being part of additional fitness initiatives that promote good eating and physical fitness habits.
Through this partnership, Kids Foot Locker will use its expansive network of stores and associates, and its digital and social channels, to encourage young children and their parents to participate in physical exercise on a daily basis. Inspirational stories will be shared with fans and customers through in-store displays, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest @Kidsfootlocker.
Beginning July 31, customers who wish to support this healthy lifestyle initiative for kids will have the opportunity to join these efforts by donating $1 during the back-to-school season at Kids Foot Locker stores nationwide and at kidsfootlocker.com. The monies raised as part of this “Add-a-Buck” retail initiative will provide select local Clubs with much-needed tools to help them be active and live a healthier lifestyle.
“Every day, we work to inspire kids to go big in the classroom and playground, to play big and dream big, which includes leading a healthy and active lifestyle. We are very excited for this partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, especially during a time when we are all working to get our children away from their TVs and electronic devices, and to go outside more to play sports, run, and exercise,” says Jake Jacobs, President and CEO, Foot Locker/Kids Foot Locker.
“Together with partners like Kids Foot Locker, we hope to encourage and inspire our Club members to achieve their health and fitness goals. We want to make the healthy choice be the easy choice – and by providing programs like these, we’re making that choice even more accessible. By engaging in healthy and active activities each day, we’re helping build great futures for our kids,” says Wayne B. Moss, senior director of healthy lifestyles for BGCA.
