09 Jan Keen Appoints New Supply Chain Leaders
Keen is elevating its commitment to on-time, reliable delivery of quality, innovative product with significant investments to its global supply chain leadership team as the company grows into its second decade.
Keen welcomed three highly-experienced new members to the team: Kirk Hale, Eric Goldner, and Brad Voelpel. The trio will more efficiently connect Keen’s factories, transportation, distribution, sales force, and retailers, while building sustainable processes to instill continued confidence with Keen retailers worldwide.
“As our brand embarks on our second decade we are as passionate and committed to global supply chain excellence as we are to product and brand innovation,” said Steve Meineke, Keen president. “Bringing these three proven supply chain leaders on to the Keen team will enhance our capabilities for best-in-class service for our retail partners, ultimately creating a wonderful brand experience for Keen fans.”
Kirk Hale joins Keen as VP of Global Supply Chain Operations, where he will direct all facets of global distribution. He brings more than 27 years of logistical and supply chain operations experience to Keen. Recently, Kirk was the Senior VP of Distribution Operations at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Kirk also served as VP of Corporate Sourcing and Product Development for Payless Shoes. Kirk will focus and lead Keen to best serve Keen’s retail partners through improved distribution, quality, and service.
“I am excited to join a great team at Keen that is committed to creating and offering quality products that support the lifestyles and outdoor adventures of active people around the world,” said Kirk. “I look forward to leading the evolution of Keen’s supply chain focused on delivering value to our dealers and the ultimate fan experience.”
Keen also welcomes Eric Goldner as VP of Global Operations and Costing. Eric brings a deep familiarity of the footwear industry, with more than 20 years of experience with leading global brands – such as Nike, Wolverine, and Coach. Based in Hong Kong, Eric will lead Keen’s operations to strengthen organizational agility, vendor/partner relations, and global supply chain capabilities and business strategy.
Joining Kirk at Keen’s headquarters in Portland, Brad Voelpel will serve as Senior Manager of International Logistics and Compliance and guide the company’s global transportation operations. A supply chain management expert with more than 15 years of experience in international shipping and logistics, Brad had direct oversight of high-volume ocean shipping operations at Maersk Line & Damco, and served as the Director of International Operations at Williams-Sonoma.
This infusion of supply chain leadership supports on-time delivery for Keen’s retailers as the company continues its commitment to connecting deeper with its manufacturing and retail partners. This investment in global supply chain operations kicks off an expanded vision for building an enduring brand as the company enters its second decade of business. In 2014, the company made two key executive team hires in Steve Meineke as President and Michael Minter as VP of Creative, who, along with the entire leadership at Keen, will drive the brand and its commitment to innovation and excellence into the future.
