25 Jun Under Armour Celebrates Jordan Spieth’s U.S Open Win
Under Armour celebrated the U.S. Open win by Jordan Spieth, the 21-year-old golfer. This marks Spieth’s second major win in a row. On its website, Under Armour posted, along with an image of Spieth, “Two Majors. Two Wins. And He’s Just Getting Started.”
The No. 2 golfer, now the youngest U.S. Open champion in history, is now halfway to a Grand Slam and won the Masters in April with a record-setting performance.
The Under Armour golf cleat that Spieth was wearing during the tournament, the UA Drive One, has sold out.
Under Armour has backed Spieth since he turned professional, and signed a 10-year sponsorship extension earlier this year.
Spieth’s success follows on the breakout year for its other top athlete, Stephen Curry, who was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the 2014-15 season and led the Warriors to their first title since 1974.
Spieth and Curry are two of Under Armour’s most high-profile athletes, a group that also includes New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, skier Lindsey Vonn and swimmer Michael Phelps.
