27 Aug Burton Restructures European Leadership
Burton Europe hired Frank Waterlot, previously at Oakley and Calvin Klein, as VP of sales and marketing. He reports to Hermann Kapferer, SVP & General Manager of Burton Europe.
In this newly created role at Burton’s European Headquarters, Franck will oversee marketing, sales and product to strengthen Burton’s position in the marketplace.
In 2005 Waterlot started in his first global role at Eres as Global Sales & Marketing Director. Two years later, Waterlot joined Oakley as EMEA Sales Director and was instrumental in the restructuring of the company’s European division. In his new role at Burton, Waterlot’s responsibilities include strategic guidance and coordination of all marketing, product merchandising, wholesale and retail initiatives in order to streamline Burton’s focus on market and customer needs.
In addition to Waterlot’s new role, Burton Europe is also implementing a new two-silo management structure. The first silo includes sales, product and marketing, which is now led by Waterlot. And the second silo is called ‘Shared Services’, which includes human resources, finance and operations. Oliver Zaletel, the current VP of Finance, will now take on a new role as the first VP of Shared Services and will continue reporting directly to Hermann Kapferer.
Hermann Kapferer, SVP & GM of Burton Europe says, “Franck is an outstanding addition to our team as he brings a deep understanding of our industry and a wealth of experience with him. This is the next step to prepare the company for the coming years and with Franck and Oliver in VP roles, I’m confident we have the best people involved.“
Waterlot adds, “Burton is an amazing brand, and I’m very happy to join this incredibly dedicated group of people at such an important time. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead of us. Together as a team, we will surely master them.”
