04 Jan W.L. Gore Hires Amer Sports’ Nora Stowell as Global Sales Leader
W. L. Gore & Associates, parent to the Gore-Tex brand of technologies, has hired Nora Stowell as its global sales leader for footwear, gloves and accessories.
Stowell comes to job from Amer Sports where she most recently served as the company’s vice president of U.S. sales for its Winter, Outdoor and & Cycle divisions, including the Arc’teryx, Atomic, Salomon, Suunto and Mavic brands.
“Nora brings a lifetime passion for the outdoors and so intimately understands the role of our technology,” said Achim Loeffler, global business leader of footwear at Gore. “In addition, she has worked for many of our customers, and understands the various stages of introducing components and the features and benefits for manufacturers, retailers and consumers. We look forward to having her join the enterprise to help further develop and grow the global footwear business at Gore.”
Stowell will be honored this week as the winner of the 2016 Pioneering Woman award by the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. Recipients of this award are honored for their significant achievements in the outdoor industry, while working toward greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
In addition to her business roles, Stowell is currently the vice chairman of the executive committee for the Outdoor Industry Association board of directors. Stowell also is an avid alpine and cross country skier, road and mountain biker, trail runner and surfer.
