17 Feb Kohl’s Realigns Management Structure
Kohl’s Corp. is eliminating the positions of three executives – chief digital officer, senior vice president of store environment and development, and senior vice president of communications and public relations – as part of the reorganization, according to a reports.
Kohl’s restructuring comes days after the retailer reported disappointing holiday-quarter sales and cut its full-year 2015 profit forecast, hurt by heavy discounts. The reorganization comes as the Wall Street Journal last month said Kohl’s board of directors was weighing options that could include a partial or full sale to a private-equity firm.
In an interview with the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, Jen Johnson, the company’s vice president for corporate communications, described the personnel changes as “back-of-the house reorganization.” She said the intent is to structure Kohl’s teams “in a way that would make us a faster, more agile organization.”
Those exiting include Krista Berry, executive vice president and chief digital officer; Bevin Bailis, senior vice president for communications and public relations; and Paul Calderon, senior vice president for store environment.
