21 Jul Ugg Gives Its “Classic” an Update
It’s the end of an era and the beginning of a new one for Ugg, the Australian boot brand, which announced it would be updating its enduringly popular “Classic” boot style with a new version boasting performance improvements.
The “Classic II” comes nearly 40 years after Ugg first unveiled its original Classic boot, boasting new features including water and stain resistance, better traction, and an overall lighter weight.
“This is without a doubt the biggest launch Ugg has ever undertaken in its 38-year history,” said Deckers Brands President and CEO Dave Powers. “Updating a product as iconic as the Classic was a big decision. However, after listening to what our consumers want we knew it was time.”
