07 May Kohl’s Begins Reopening Stores
Kohl’s Corp has re-opened stores in Arkansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Utah in its first steps to re-open stores amid the pandemic. The department store chain’s stores have been closed since March 19.
“We will continue to assess these new measures on an ongoing basis and apply our learnings and insights to our future store openings when we make the decision to open additional stores,” the company said in a statement.
The statement added that “customers will notice a number of new health and safety measures throughout the store, including limited store hours and dedicated shopping hours for at-risk individuals, social distancing measures, elevated cleaning procedures, and a new returns process, among others. All store associates will be required to wear masks and gloves while in the store, and will be trained on new store policies and procedures before the stores are reopened.”
The stores in those states opened on May 4. As of February 1, Kohl’s had eight stores in Arkansas, 11 in Oklahoma, 16 in South Carolina and 12 in Utah, according to a regulatory filing. The retailer did not say if all or only certain stores in those states have reopened.
Kohl’s has 1,159 stores plus 12 Fila outlets.
