11 Feb Mizuno’s Q3 Profits Soar
Mizuno Corp. reported earnings surged in the third quarter ended December 31 as sales grew 8.1 percent.
Quarterly results were attained by extrapolating six-month results from nine-month results.
Sales in the quarter reached ¥40.5 billion against ¥37.2 billion a year ago.
By region, sales in Japan were up 10.9 percent to ¥27.4 billion from ¥24.4 billion. Sales in the Americas region advanced 9.4 percent to ¥5.3 billion from ¥4.8 billion.
In the EMEA region, sales were off 5.9 percent to ¥3.4 billion from ¥3.6 billion. Asia/Oceania sales were down 2.3 percent to ¥4.3 billion from ¥4.4 billion.
Operating profits in the quarter reached ¥2.3 billion against ¥200 million a year ago. Net profit grew 36.0 percent to ¥2.5 billion from ¥1.6 billion.
In the nine months, sales declined 13.0 percent to ¥106.7 billion from ¥122.7 billion. Operating profit tumbled 67.0 percent to ¥1.4 billion from ¥4.4 billion while net income was down 39.6 percent to ¥1.9 billion from ¥3.2 billion.
By region in the nine months, sales in Japan fell 12.5 percent to ¥72.6 billion from ¥83.0 billion. In the Americas, sales reached ¥13.7 against ¥15.2 billion, a decline of 9.9 percent.
EMEA’s sales were down 11.4 percent to ¥10.1 billion from ¥11.4 billion. Asia/Oceania sales dropped 21.4 percent to ¥10.3 billion from ¥13.1 billion.
