20 Aug Spira Footwear To Introduce Duck Dynasty Running Shoe
Fans of Duck Dynasty, cable networks #1 nonfiction show, are about to be “Happy, Happy, Happy” with news that the series is getting its own line of sneakers thanks to Spira Footwear. The shoe will feature Spira’s patented WaveSpring Technology in combination with the show’s famous duck camouflage pattern, and will first go on sale August 16 through crowd-funding platform RocketHub.com. Fans participating in the program will be able to pre-purchase the shoe at a substantial discount before it enters production for distribution into retail.
The campaign will mark the first time network television is directly involved in a crowdfunding project. It is certainly no coincidence that A&E Network, home to the Duck Dynasty series, has positioned itself over the last year to be a trailblazer in the arena. The network recently partnered with Rockethub to create “Project Startup”, a unique crowdfunding platform designed to showcase up and coming brands and new technologies. A&E will help promote the campaign through the network’s digital assets, including a television commercial, social media and website presence. If the project reaches its $100,000 funding goal, the network will also make a $20,000 donation to wounded veterans organizations.
…Spira shoes are premised upon a patented technology called WaveSpring. The WaveSpring is a lightweight, laterally stable and compact spring, which is placed in both the heel and forefoot of all Spira shoes. The WaveSpring not only cushions, but returns energy, allowing people to participate in the activities with far more comfort and less stress and strain than traditional footwear. Over 200 people in the past several years have won major races and marathons wearing the brand’s shoes, and a recent study found that runners who raced in Spiras had reduced heart rate, respiration rate and oxygen consumption and were able to run an average of 20 seconds per mile faster.
