The Rockport Company (www.rockport.com) takes innovation to a whole new level this season as it continues to modernize its footwear collections, providing metropolitan consumers with the “go-to” shoe that merges style and modern comfort. This Fall, Rockport will remain focused on its tradition of infusing performance technologies in dress footwear, as the company gears up for the global launch of its newest shoe concept for men and women called Total Motion.

According to a recent survey in the United Kingdom from the College of Podiatry, 90 percent of women have suffered from a foot problem, with some of the top ailments ranging from blisters, ingrown toe nails and cracked heels. Despite these problems, nearly half (43%) of the women admit that they have continued to wear uncomfortable shoes even though they hurt their feet. In terms of high heel wear, women reported that it takes an average of 1 hour, 6 minutes and 48 seconds for their feet to start hurting, with one in five (20%) saying they start to feel pain within just ten minutes.

With the battles that every woman wages against uncomfortable footwear on a daily basis, specifically when it comes to heels, Rockport’s Total Motion Collection provides the ultimate in comfort with the combination of a glove like fit and controlled flexibility. Rockport will initially launch three styles for Men and six styles for Women globally. The Men’s collection will include a traditional Chelsea dress boot, a slip-on loafer, and a wingtip in both leather and suede options in neutral shades of black, gray, bitter chocolate and British tan. The Women’s collection will include a broad assortment of styles, including a 75mm round toe heel a 60mm wedge pump, a mid-calf bootie and a 60mm tall wedge boot. The Women’s Collection will be also be available in leather and suede, and includes a wide color assortment in sophisticated black, coach, fossil, and cordovan.

The Total Motion collection has a suggested retail value between $140 to $210 and will be sold at Rockport stores worldwide and select retailers, including Nordstrom, as well as through Rockport.com, beginning September 2013.
