09 Sep Adidas Extends Sponsorship Agreement with Bucknell
Bucknell Athletics and Adidas have again extended their product and sponsorship agreement, which maintains Adidas as the exclusive supplier of footwear, uniforms, apparel and accessories for all 27 Bison varsity athletics teams. The extension, which runs through May 2021, builds upon a nine-year partnership between Bucknell and Adidas, and provides additional levels of support for Bison teams and student-athletes.
Bucknell Athletics has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Adidas, signing its first-ever broad-based apparel deal with Adidas in May 2006. The official partnership was extended in 2011 and again this week.
In addition to outfitting the Bison in shoes and other apparel, Adidas will also become the exclusive on-field equipment supplier for men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and baseball.
“We are delighted to continue our association with Adidas for many years to come,” said Bucknell director of athletics and recreation John Hardt. “In order for our student-athletes to reach peak performance in training and in competitions, they need to be furnished with the very best equipment and apparel. The Adidas brand is widely recognized around the world as a leader in this highly competitive industry, and we are proud to have our student-athletes outfitted with a consistent identity across all sports in Adidas gear.”
“Bucknell University has been a fantastic partner. We’re excited to build on the momentum from our existing relationship and continue to elevate Bucknell Athletics across the country,” said Jim Murphy, director of NCAA Sports Marketing at Adidas America. “Over the next six years, we’ll bring our best and most innovative uniforms, footwear and apparel to all Bison men’s and women’s athletics teams.”
