Arc’teryx Appoints VP Footwear

Arc’teryx Equipment has appointed Ovidio Garcia as VP, footwear, effective immediately. In his new role, Garcia is responsible for leading the brand’s footwear strategy reporting directly to Katie Becker, chief creative officer, Arc’teryx.

“Technical, performance footwear has been and will continue to be a key growth opportunity for Arc’teryx,” said Becker. “As we looked for the right person to help us take the next step in our footwear journey, Ovidio’s deep industry expertise and first-hand experience leading and building strategic growth plans at global footwear brands will be invaluable and made him the ideal person for the role. We are excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to working with him and the team as we shape the future of footwear at Arc’teryx.”

Garcia “brings a diverse 15-year experience at Nike spanning from concept to consumer across performance and sportswear categories, at a global and GEO level in footwear product management, merchandising & product operations,” said the company. He was most recently global footwear product operations director.

Prior to Nike, Garcia held sports-related industry roles and is a two-time Olympian in Alpine Skiing.
