15 Jul Boston Mayor Celebrates Converse Rubber Tracks Opening
In a show of support for local music artists, Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh visited the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in Boston at the company’s World Headquarters on Lovejoy Wharf.
Officially opened on Wednesday, July 1, Converse Rubber Tracks provides emerging New England artists the opportunity to record their original music alongside a team of experienced engineers and producers, at no cost.
Converse President and CEO Jim Calhoun escorted Mayor Walsh on a special tour of the Converse Rubber Tracks studio and Converse’s 214,000-square-foot headquarters, which opened its doors in April 2015.
The building sits on three-quarters of an acre of publicly accessible waterfront space and includes Converse’s 10-story office, the Converse at Lovejoy Wharf retail store and the third permanent Converse Rubber Tracks recording studio, all serving collectively as the brand’s main hub in their mission to unleash creativity.
Established in 2011, Converse Rubber Tracks is a multifaceted global music platform that provides emerging artists the opportunity to unleash their creative spirit. Converse Rubber Tracks recording studios connect artists with experienced engineers to create original music in a professional studio, at no cost. The program includes permanent studios in Brooklyn, Sao Paulo and Boston, along with various Converse Rubber Tracks pop-up studios hosted around the world.
