19 Nov Danner boots to open new stores
Danner boot’s retail expansion continues next week with the opening of a new store on Portland’s west side and, in December, a new store in Renton, Wash., the company announced today.
The west side store will be located in Tanasbourne Town Center adjacent to Nordstrom Rack. A noon to 3 p.m. grand opening Wednesday, Nov. 27, is planned. A soft opening will start later this week began Friday.
The Tanasbourne 3,200-square-foot store, at 18101 N.W. Evergreen Parkway in Beaverton, will house Danner’s full footwear line.
This will be Danner’s third retail store in Oregon. The company in 2010 opened its factory store near Portland International Airport, featuring the company’s recrafting shop, and, company officials say, soon began pondering their next area retail move.
Danner opened the boutique-style Union Way store in September at 1022 W. Burnside St.
The Renton store is expected to carry a full line of Danner boots.
Danner also has retail stores in Japan.
Today’s announcement follows last week’s introduction of the Old Growth Collection, a collaboration between Danner and Woolrich Woolen Mills. The collection includes a blanket ($150), shirt jacket ($295), scarf ($55) and a Danner Light Mill Street boot ($340), all U.S.-made.
Earlier this month, Danner launched the Mountain Light McKenzie boot, the third annual collaboration between Danner and Tanner Goods of Portland. The boot, like the Woolrich boot, was made at Danner’s Portland factory and was designed with features of Danner’s Mountain Light boot.
