01 Jul Ever-Rite Talks Footwear Sourcing in Vietnam
Vietnam is quickly becoming a new hotbed of sourcing for the footwear industry, coming with its own unique set of advantages and challenges compared to neighboring China.
Ever-Rite is just one company that moved all of their factories from China to Vietnam, reflecting a growing trend industry-wide. Ever-Rite Factory Group Factory Manager Oliver Ng said a large part of the move came down to the workers.
“In Vietnam we are able to maintain workers for a longer time, so we are able to get more skilled workers,” he said. “Of course the inflation rate is a little high, but because of the base wage is much lower Vietnam is still very competitive.”
