01 Apr Hoka Secures Presence in Tri with Ironman Sponsorship
Hoka One One, the maximal cushion and minimal weight shoe that gained popularity among runners has also secured a strong presence in the tri world, being named the Official Running Show Sponsor of the Ironman U.S. Series for 2016.
“Our running shoes have been quietly gaining popularity among triathletes for several years now—the lightweight cushioning that is the hallmark of our brand is ideal for tired triathlete legs,” said Hoka One One President Wendy Yang. “We are excited to announce our partnership with Ironman, the preeminent race series in the sport, especially as we prepare to release the Clayton this April, a lightweight yet supportive running shoe that should be on every triathlete’s radar.”
The brand currently sponsors 11 triathletes, including six-time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott. In 1993, Scott became the first person to be inducted into the Ironman Hall of Fame.

The 2016 Ironman U.S. Series event schedule includes 13 races, each of which consist of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run.
