Leading women’s shoe retailer, J.Reneé, recently attended the GS1 Connect 2013 Conference and received the U.S. Apparel and General Merchandise Award for Brand Excellence.
The women’s shoe company has been a supporter of industry standards for business to business commerce for over 20 years. This award is presented to companies that develop GS1 standard based systems which result in trading partner efficiencies and supply chain improvements.
“It is very rewarding to work with individuals from companies that support a common goal of collaborating to improve the information exchange process,” says J.Reneé CIO/COO Coby Sparks. “A critical part of developing the Image and Attribute Guidelines has been working with GS1, who provided the guidance and roadmap for success.”
Coby Sparks accepted the award on behalf of the fashion footwear company. Sparks was also a panelist at the convention for a session on “How EDI Can Revolutionize Your Business Practices
.” This was a non-technical seminar explaining how EDI and trading partner collaboration can help transform a company’s core business practice. Sparks is also the co-chair of the GS1 US Images and Attributes Committee, which is developing guidelines and standards for internet images and extended attributes.
GS1 US is The Global Language of Business, an organization that serves more than 200,000 businesses in 25 industries in the U.S. by facilitating industry initiatives, administrating the GS1 System of standards, providing education and support, and connecting communities through events and online forums.
