26 May K•Swiss Partners with Digital Learning Platform
K•Swiss has partnered with digital learning platform Skillshare to bring its program, ‘The Board’ to the public.
The program is a season-long brand-building curriculum created by K•Swiss, and is free to everyone. By releasing the full six-session series—dubbed the ‘Creative Entrepreneur’s Toolkit’—on Skillshare, K•Swiss hopes to inspire the next generation of young entrepreneurs through exclusive video access featuring industry experts in the fashion, sneaker and business fields.
“At Skillshare, we aim to provide today’s creators and entrepreneurs with all of the conceptual and technical knowledge they need to level-up their endeavors. What K•Swiss has built with ‘The Board’ is directly in line with our mission, so we are thrilled to help make these lessons available to aspiring entrepreneurs worldwide,” said Elliott Curtis, education team at Skillshare.
The ‘Creative Entrepreneur’s Toolkit’ showcases ‘Board’ members working alongside K•Swiss and a team of insiders to complete real tasks to bring the brand back to prominence. Each session focuses on different aspects on the business and is taught by leading industry veterans from their respective fields. Session 01 connects ‘The Board’ to the legendary Jeff Staple to learn the tenants of sneaker design. In Session 02, 10.deep founder Scott Sasso shares his expertise on brand positioning. ‘The Board’ enters Session 03 with a spotlight on philanthropy, where Tyler Gage and Dan MacCombie of beverage company Runa tasks ‘The Board’ with creating a charity-based initiative to execute. Session 04 kicks off with lessons in social media with The Fat Jew. During Session 05, stylist and fashion editor Rachael Wang shares her expertise on creating an impactful lookbook. The capstone session, rounded out by founder of London-based nail brand WAH Nails Sharmadean Reid, centers on business plan development.
“‘The Board’ allowed us to connect with young entrepreneurs from around the world to help their learning and business growth, and they in turn helped ours,” said President of K•Swiss, Barney Waters. “Partnering with Skillshare to bring such a valuable toolkit to the public was the perfect match to our investment in emerging business leaders. The aspirational paradigm has shifted in today’s generation, where the K•Swiss consumer wants to be a successful CEO rather than the star quarterback.”
