Nana’s Kidz, Payless provide shoes to families

Some kids have to walk to school regardless of the weather, and some families can’t afford to replace worn-out, broken shoes.

So Nana’s Kidz, a program affiliated with Grandma’s House of Hope and dedicated to helping children in low-income families, partnered with Payless Shoe Source to provide 75 local kids with a new pair of shoes.

In January, the organization held two events in Anaheim and Garden Grove, also partnering with the Boys & Girls Club in Garden Grove and the El Modena Family Resource Center of Orange.

Families at the events were thrilled to have new shoes for the children, and the kids enjoyed being able to choose from a variety of styles.

In addition to outreach events, Nana’s Kidz provides weekend and summer nutritional support for children living in motels. Grandma’s House of Hope is an Anaheim-based nonprofit organization that provides help for women in crisis and hungry children in Orange County. For more information, visit grandmashouseofhope.org.
