18 Nov Nike’s Self-Lacing Sneakers To Cost $720
Nike said the HyperAdapt 1.0, its hyped self-lacing model inspired by the 1985 movie “Back to the Future Part II,” will carry a retail price of $720.
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 in Black/White-Blue Lagoon will be available at the Nike Soho store and the Nike+ ClubHouse at 45 Grand Street in New York from December 1. Information regarding the booking of appointments for experience and purchase of the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be available on Nike.com and the Nike+ App.
Additionally, a small group of Nike+ App users will have limited early access on November 28. These users will be notified through the “Reserved for You” system and offered the opportunity to purchase the shoe.
Later in December, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, in both Black/White-Blue Lagoon and Metallic Silver/Black-White colorways, will become available through the Nike+ App and select Nike doors in the U.S.
The shoes feature a sensor under the midfoot that automatically tightens the system when a foot is placed in the shoe. It also lights up. Buttons on the side of the sneakers tighten or loosen for a customized fit.
