10 Oct Rack Room Shoes raises more than $600,000 to help children in need
Every Back to School season, family footwear retailer Rack Room Shoes seeks to empower customers to impact their local communities through its Shoes That Fit fundraiser. This year, the retailer raised $601,149 to provide children in need with new shoes for the school year.
Shoes That Fit is a grassroots non-profit organization that provides shoes to at-risk students, identified through local school liaisons.
To support this cause, Rack Room Shoes invited customers to make a donation of $5 or more – in-store or online – in exchange for a colorable tote bag throughout the retailer’s Back to School season. Rack Room Shoes then committed 100 percent of the proceeds to local Shoes That Fit programs.
Last year, the company raised more than $555,000 for Shoes That Fit through the annual fundraiser.
“This is a campaign that we’ve found really resonates with our customers. Every child deserves to go to school in comfort and dignity – and circumstances shouldn’t disrupt that right,” said Jan Mauldin, corporate marketing director for Rack Room Shoes. “Every year, we’re humbled by the overwhelming generosity of the communities we serve, and this year is certainly without exception.”
