Salomon Appoints New President

Amer Sports Corp. announced the planned appointment of Franco Fogliato as president and CEO of Salomon. The appointment will be effective no later than March 15, 2022. Fogliato will be charged with leading its international business.

“As we enter this next phase of growth for Salomon, we are thrilled to welcome Franco to the Amer Sports team,” said James Zheng, Board Executive Director and CEO, Amer Sports. “Franco offers a great mix of international brand business leadership experience from the sportswear industry and multi-directional experience that will be invaluable as we accelerate Salomon’s strategies in international markets and position the brand for long-term success. With Franco’s leadership and deep experience in designing profitable growth for major sportswear brands, I am confident that Salomon can reach another level, and we look forward to his input. ”

Fogliato most recently held the position of executive vice president global omnichannel for Columbia Sportswear based in Portland, OR. His more than two decades of experience also includes roles at The North Face and Billabong. He resigned from Columbia Sportswear effective September 3.

Fogliato said, “Salomon is an inspiring brand that represents the pinnacle of design and innovation. I am thrilled to join this talented team to extend their successful track record and build new opportunities to lead the brand into a new phase of growth.

He succeeds Jean-Marc Pambet who returned after retirement as interim leader for Salomon in January 2021. “We sincerely thank Jean-Marc for his strong leadership and contributions in guiding Salomon through this period and for returning from retirement to his company after completing a brilliant 34-year career with Salomon,” added Zheng.
