SHOE SHOW, INC. is pleased to announce the promotion of John Walker to the new position of Vice President of Merchandising.
John is a well-known 33-year veteran of the footwear and apparel industry. His footwear career followed a successful role as a head high school coach and teacher.
John began his career with Belk Store Services in 1989 before transitioning to a Hong Kong-based company that manufactured and sold footwear around the world. He then joined a young Genesco Company, called Journeys, as an athletic buyer and merchant. After a great run at Journeys, John joined the Vans family in California as Vice President of Merchandising. He returned home to North Carolina to work in the family apparel business before joining SHOE SHOW, INC. in 2005 where he has served as an athletic buyer for the nation’s largest privately-owned retail footwear company.
