Supreme, Nike Team Up For GTS Collaboration

Streetwear retailer Supreme has teamed up with Nike to release an updated version of one of the brand’s classic tennis silhouettes, the GTS, which made its debut in 1993. The latest edition of the shoe will be available exclusively to Supreme locations in the U.S. and via its online store on Thursday.

The shoe, which features a herringbone cotton canvas upper, will come in five colorways – white, yellow, blue denim, red and black – all with a white outsole. The shoe will also feature the word Supreme in gold stitched into the heel.

Although the GTS, which stands for Great Tennis Shoe, was made for use on and off the tennis court, the shoe became a skateboarding staple, worn by legendary skaters Guy Mariano, Pepe Martinez and Drake Jones, according to Supreme.

The shoe has a retail price tag of $88.

Nike is no stranger to the skate community, with its SB line catering to the sport and its athletes. The brand has a SB release coming out Saturday, the Civilist Collection, using a pair of the Stefan Janoski silhouettes – the SB Zoom Stefan Janoaki Canvas Spree and the SB Janoski Max Spree. The shoes have retail prices of $90 and $120, respectively.
