Taylor Swift Stars in Keds’ ‘Ladies First’ Campaign

Taylor Swift is kicking it in Keds again for the brand’s latest campaign, called “Ladies First.”

“A new generation of women have been leading an exciting cultural shift, redefining the conversation about equality and female empowerment,” Keds President Chris Lindner said in a statement. “‘Ladies First’ is a celebration of amazing women, like Taylor Swift, who are blazing new trails every day. From CEOing to BFFing, these ladies are doing it all.”

Headlines include: “All dressed up with everywhere to go”; “There will be moving. There will be shaking”; and “There’s no such thing as an average girl.” Illustrator Priscilla White, pattern designer Kendra Dandy and street artist Paige Smith crafted the artistic backdrops.

Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners partnered with Keds to seek insight from more than 10,000 women across eight countries to learn how they define “female empowerment.” Themes represented include constant evolution and setting your own path.

The ads will run across social media and retail, in addition to bus wraps and subway media.

“Keds is approaching its centennial year in 2016, and the Ladies First platform is the start of a powerful new era,” added Lindner. “The headline ‘It’s not a running shoe, it’s a run-the-world shoe’ is a pinnacle expression of what we stand for.”
