08 Apr The North Face Commits $1 Million In Grants To COVID-19 Recovery Efforts
The North Face announced it will join in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with the donation of $1 million in grants through its social advocacy platform, The Explore Fund, as well as the donation of 60,000 gloves to U.S. healthcare professionals and first responders.
Glove donations will be directed to those working on the front line in the brand’s home state of Colorado.
For the Explore Fund grants, The North Face said it will work closely with national and local outdoor officials to allocate funds where the need is most critical immediately and throughout the recovery.
The North Face also that out of concern for the health and safety of associates, the brand made the decision to keep its North American stores closed with a tentative re-open date of May 4. The company said it is listening to local government recommendations for select retail closures in Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.
The North Face said in a statement, “As the battle against COVID-19 continues and its impact deepens, we will continue to explore other ways that we can support our front-line workers and those affected by the crisis. We’re hopeful for the day when we’ll be back out there, together.”
