Tony Spring Takes Helm as Chief Executive Officer and Chair-Elect of Macy’s, Inc.

NEW YORK–Macy’s, Inc. (NYSE: M) today announced that, in connection with its leadership succession plan announced on March 29, 2023, Tony Spring (58) will serve as chief executive officer of the company, effective February 4, 2024. Spring succeeds Jeff Gennette (62), who is retiring as chief executive officer after serving the company for 40 years. Gennette will continue as chair of the board until the company’s 2024 Annual Meeting, with Spring becoming board chair as of the Annual Meeting.
